Hillfoot Drive, Bearsden


The brief for this project was to extend the existing bungalow significantly to the rear to create open plan living/ dining and kitchen areas with separate utility room. The existing accommodation would also be re-worked considerably to provide en-suite facilities to the guest bedroom while increasing the existing bathroom layout. We were also asked to explore utilising the attic space in order to create a large master bedroom with shower/ wc and storage areas.

The proposed scheme consisted of a 'split level' extension which not only addressed the daylighting issues created by the steep garden to the rear, but also helped with getting up to the first floor accommodation via the 'feature' staircase.

The works also included extensive landscaping through the formation of a large retaining wall to the rear garden and car port to the front of the property.
